Brittney held up a photo of Cherelle moments before speaking with the reporter. He also wore a sweatshirt that read “Black Lives Are Loved.” During the hearing, according to Reuters, Griner’s legal team argued that the WNBA star had used medical cannabis to help deal with her injuries — and was not using the drug recreationally. Griner faces up to 10 years in prison in the case. He will return for another hearing in the trial later this week.
