Li Yanxi, who lives in Suzhou, east China’s Jiangsu, was sent to the summer kindergarten where a teacher organized an online video meeting for parents to watch the class and meet last week. A video since it was uploaded to Weibo on Saturday showed Li’s father, Li Mingxing, appearing on the screen among other parents wearing a safety helmet and a worker’s uniform. The 7-year-old repeatedly shouts “Daddy!” just before her eyes began to fill with tears. As her teacher comforts her, Lee tells her that she misses her father and worries about him. “Why do you miss your father? How long [has it been] since you have seen him?’ asks the teacher in the video. He added that he works between 4 and 5 in the morning every day and hopes he can stay healthy. The video has garnered over 2.7 million views and 19,000 likes since it was uploaded.
