Throughout the chase from Los Angeles to Los Angeles, the driver nearly hit cars, a bicyclist, crossed a freeway island and apparently ran down a ravine before getting back into the car. The driver of the dark-colored Chevy Malibu got on the northbound 710 Freeway in the Long Beach area around 6:30 p.m. At 6:40 p.m. the driver began attempting dangerous manoeuvres, including driving into a vegetated divider at Junction 405. The driver continued on the 405 southbound and shortly before 7 p.m., the driver crossed into Orange County. The driver was headed to the Westminster area on Highway 405 South. The driver exited the freeway and was traveling on surface roads in the Costa Mesa area. The driver at one point got out of the sedan and was on foot running through a ravine, but got back into the car in the Irvine area. The driver continued into the Laguna Hills area, traveling north on the 5 Freeway. Authorities eventually conducted a PIT maneuver as the driver headed to the area of Crown Valley Parkway and Cabot Road in Mission Viejo. Surrendered and taken into custody,
