A US fugitive featured on the TV series America’s Most Wanted who was at large for two decades has been tracked down by BC RCMP and arrested in Creston.

Louis Edward Flood, now 77, is a convicted sex offender who disappeared while on parole in Idaho in 2001 after serving three years of an 18-year sentence for lewd conduct with a minor and sexual abuse of a child under 16. appeared in 2011 in the investigative TV series that tries to help wanted people return to custody. RCMP in Creston were tipped off in mid-July that Flood was in the area, and that’s when Const. Dave Bickle jumped on the bandwagon. He contacted the U.S. Marshals Service, Idaho Correctional Services and the Idaho State Police to obtain records related to Flood. US officials were able to provide a photo from 2000 that was used to confirm his identity. “We were contacted immediately after my initial request and they provided me with Flood’s records dating back to 2001,” Bickle said in a statement. “They said he was not complying with his parole and they issued a warrant for his arrest. Bickle was issued a removal order by Canada Border Services Agency and Flood was taken into custody at the Okanagan Correctional Center on July 21. He returned to the US on Monday. Flood is now expected to serve the remaining 13 years of his sentence in a US prison. “I never thought I would be involved in such an interesting arrest and have the opportunity to work with so many different agencies,” Bickle said. “This is a highlight for my career.”
