AMD Officially Launches Latest Software Drivers with Noise Suppression Technology and Up to 92% OpenGL Performance Boost

AMD Noise Suppression technology already broke the curtains when a video of the feature was released ahead of its release by AMD itself. Now the red team has officially unveiled Radeon software drivers that add support for said technology and aim to be a direct competitor to NVIDIA’s RTX Voice that runs on both GeForce RTX & GTX products, while Noise Suppression will work alongside Radeon RX 5000 and above. . AMD Noise Suppression reduces ambient audio noise from your surroundings, providing greater clarity and improved concentration whether you’re concentrating on an important meeting or staying locked in a competitive game. Using a real-time deep learning algorithm to reduce background audio noise, this new feature works for both your input and output devices on any AMD-powered system, removing unwanted background noise recorded in your microphone or from someone else’s device. To find AMD Noise Suppression, make sure you’re running the latest version of AMD software, click the Settings icon, and go to the Audio & Video tab. Under Sound Settings, you’ll see AMD Noise Suppression. all you need to do is click the slider and then select either the input/output device or both depending on the device you want the feature to be enabled on. From there, open your games or communication apps like Microsoft Teams, Discord, or Slack to name a few and select “AMD Streaming Audio Device” for your input/output to enjoy AMD noise cancellation. through AMD AMD “Noise Suppression” technology aims to allow users to communicate without distraction. This is achieved through Intelligent Audio enhancement that will be powered by real-time AI or Deep Learning algorithms. The technology will enable two-way noise adjustments, for both the input and the output source. One of the main goals for AMD has been to ensure that its features are widely used, and the company has planned to make Noise Suppression work in various applications and games. AMD mentions in the video that the technology is available now, so it looks like the feature will be available at launch. AMD will certainly provide a detailed guide for enabling the “Noise Suppression” technology, but it should include a few simple steps to set up. I’m definitely excited to see AMD’s software suite expand with technologies similar to its competitor. In addition to noise suppression, the new software drivers also offer a performance boost of up to 92% in OpenGL titles like Minecraft. AMD hasn’t mentioned any OpenGL titles other than Minecraft, but it’s likely that’s the only instance where the red team saw the biggest performance improvement with their new drivers. If you happen to be playing older OpenGL games, then you’re likely to see some nice performance increases, but not as heavy as the 92% that AMD advertises for Minecraft. In addition, AMD has also expanded and optimized Radeon Super Resolution technology, which now works with Radeon RX 5000 and RX 6000 series notebook processors. The company has also made additions to the Radeon Boost VRS support list, which now adds the latest titles such as VALORANT, Elden Ring and Resident Evil Village.
