Manchester United continued their unbeaten run in pre-season on Wednesday as they crushed National League side Wrexham 4-1 in a friendly behind closed doors. Erik ten Hag and his staff gave Raphael Varane the full 90 minutes after a double first-team training session, but centre-back partner Harry Maguire watched from the stands alongside Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot. United scored three without reply in the second half. Eriksen and Martinez both came off at half-time to be replaced by Coby Maino and Will Fish. The Portugal star returned to training on Tuesday but will be separated from most of his team-mates after missing the club’s pre-season tour. Ronaldo, who wants to leave Old Trafford this summer, is likely to undergo an individual training program before rejoining the Ten Hag squad.
