Emergency crews responded to the incident in the airspace at Arnprior Airport at approximately 12:45 p.m. Wednesday. Ontario Provincial Police confirm one person was killed in the incident. “This is an ongoing investigation,” said OPP Const. Brianna Roberge told CTV News Ottawa. “Renfrew OPP Crime Unit and OPP Crime Squads are on scene.” Renfrew paramedics tell CTV News Ottawa the incident involved a hard landing. Police spent the afternoon at the airport conducting their investigation. “The OPP pride themselves on doing a very thorough investigation,” Roberge said. “So they’re going to be here for as long as it takes to make sure they’ve uncovered everything they could possibly need to do a good investigation.” Parachute Ottawa and Mobility Lab Inc. operate out of Arnprior Airport. The airport manager says they were told Parachute Ottawa is working with the Ontario Provincial Police as part of the investigation. This is breaking news. We will have more details as they become available.
