Former President Donald Trump will play LIV Golf on Thursday alongside two of the sport’s biggest stars at the course and club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The former president, who praised the Saudi-backed golf tour for disrupting the PGA, will compete alongside stars Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeSambo. The New York Post originally reported: Donald Trump is scheduled to be at this week’s LIV Golf Invitational at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminster, N.J. The former president will play Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson in Thursday’s pro-am before the first round, an official has confirmed tournament at The Thesis. That Trump will be paired with Deschamps and Johnson is no surprise. He has played with both in the past at South Florida. DeChambeau’s bag also had Trump’s logo on it. DeChambeau and Johnson both left the PGA this summer for huge cash offers. The controversial league led by Greg Norman and paid for by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund also managed to get Bubba Watson on Wednesday. Trump has played with some of the best golfers in the world throughout his public life. While he was president, he played a round with Rory McIlroy. The former president has come under fire in recent weeks for allowing LIV and Norman to use his courses. Families of Americans who died in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 asked him to distance himself from the league. Trump recently blasted the PGA on TRUTH Social for being “unfaithful” to the players. “All those golfers who remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA in all its various guises will pay a heavy price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes and you will get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from the PGA officials making millions of dollars a year,” he wrote. The 2022 PGA Championship was to be played at the Trump Course in Bedminster. He was flown to Tulsa, Oklahoma four days after the attack on the Capitol on January 6. Do you have a tip we should know?
