Today’s highly anticipated Mario Kart announcement has finally hit the pitstop! Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 2 has arrived, and it’s brought with it a number of iconic tracks that we’ve never had the chance to race on Switch. One of the new additions, however, is the Sky-High Sundae — a completely original piece that will land as part of Wave 2 on August 4th. Quick into action, Nintendo has already started sharing details of this sweet course. The tweet below showcases some of the deliciously sweet sights we’ll be racing next week. The ice cream theme is so in your face we almost suffer from brain freeze! With splits, drops and jumps galore, the Sky-High Sundae is a high-speed treat. Slide through the giant gelato, climb the sorbet slopes and pass the cafe curve to reach the frozen finish line! pic.twitter.com/Az4MKeMrEI — Nintendo UK (@NintendoUK) July 28, 2022 It looks so delicious, we could eat it! There’s chocolate dripping down and popsicles decorating the sky, and it all looks awfully colorful. There’s even an ice bar at the start line. But that’s not all from Nintendo in the Sky-High Sundae (where was that mushroom-enhanced speed when we were waiting for the announcement?) as the Big N also shared that it will be driven entirely using Mario Kart’s anti-gravity mode 8 Deluxe. Better watch out for some icy collisions and slippery slopes on this one. This new course uses #MarioKart 8 Deluxe’s anti-gravity mode from start to finish. Push rival racers to get a Spin Turbo speed boost, but be careful not to fall into the abyss! pic.twitter.com/w4QEwMTgzI — Nintendo UK (@NintendoUK) July 28, 2022 The all-new track — which will also join Mario Kart Tour in the future — comes alongside returning classics Mushroom Gorge and Waluigi Pinball among others.
