Rossouw has hit his first fifty in South Africa since 2015
South Africa’s side were underpinned by Rossouw’s third T20I half-century – more than seven years after his second, with the 32-year-old only recently returning to international action for the first time since 2016 after a long spell as a Kolpak player with Hampshire .
The left-hander showed the form he had shown for Somerset in this year’s Vitality Blast, a competition in which he hit 623 runs and a tournament-high 42 sixes during the Taunton side’s run to Finals Day.
South African Rilee Rossouw scored an unbeaten run
Rossouw – who hit 10 fours and five sixes in Cardiff on Thursday night – was denied a century by England pop Chris Jordan (1-43) conceding just four runs from the South Africans’ final over.
Rossouw shared quick-pace half-centuries with Reeza Hendricks (53 off 32) and Tristan Stubbs (15no off 12) – Stubbs playing a much quieter knock than his 72 off 28 balls on Wednesday night.
Hendricks reached back-to-back half-centuries from 27 balls before falling to a superb grab by Bairstow at deep backward square – Bairstow backpedaling and claiming the catch over his shoulder as his momentum threatened to take him over the rope limit.

However, sparkling cameos from both players ended with fantastic catches – Maharaj with a dive at long-off to remove Moeen before Ngidi put Bairstow (30 off 21) running behind point.
