Teyvat’s fourth area will be released with version 3.0 on August 24th, 2022. From what we’ve seen so far, the area’s map design looks incredible, which makes sense seeing as the developers are much more experienced now. Every region and sub-region so far, Dragonspine, Enkanomiya, The Chasm, has been great to explore and it looks like Sumeru will top them all. DUALSHOCKERS VIDEO OF THE DAY Next, it’s important to note that this is the first time Al-Haitham, Dehya, Nilou, and Nahida have been officially revealed with gameplay footage. All of these Sumeru characters were leaked several weeks ago in an unprecedented leak before the Version 3.0 Closed Beta Test even began. This prompted many users to avoid talking about the leaks to avoid getting on HoYoverse’s radar. Tighnari was revealed with Collei during the last Drip Marketing. Meanwhile, Cyno first appeared in the Genshin manga (with Collei) and was later introduced as Sumeru’s representative character in the Teyvat Story Chapter trailer.

When it comes to Sumeru’s story, the trailer also officially introduced a group of mercenaries called The Eremites. Dehya is also part of this group. The trailer also featured some of Sumer’s mushroom-based fauna, which was already teased with what we’ve seen deep within The Chasm. Then the trailer also revealed that Al-Haitham is from Haravatat in Akademiya. We still don’t know what Haravatat is in Sumeru, but we’ve heard of the Akademiya several times in the game. We will encounter Al-Haitham for the first time when we visit Ormos port. Meanwhile, Nilou is an artist and dancer, a rare way of life for the people of Sumeru who prioritize rationality and wisdom. It’s also interesting to note that the developers didn’t mention whether Nahida is supposed to be the current Dendro Archon or not and only called her a “mysterious” character. However, there doesn’t seem to be any big reveal brewing there, seeing as the Statues of Seven we’ll be using in Sumeru look like Nahida. Last but not least, at the end of the video, the developers also teased more Sumeru characters to come. This makes perfect sense seeing as only 7 characters have been revealed so far. In comparison, Inazuma already has 14 characters.
